Yukon Cold Climate Innovation Centre (YCCIC) is a partnership between applied researchers, industry and government dedicated to developing, commercializing and exporting sustainable cold climate technologies. The centre facilitates collaboration between scientific researchers and businesses with the goal of creating commercial solutions that address cold climate issues.
Furthermore, the applied research program led by the NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Northern Energy Innovation is established to address the needs of the pan-territorial energy industry. Through academic partnerships with all three colleges in the Canadian territories (Yukon College, Aurora College, and Arctic College), the industry-driven program aims to advance the electric power industry through research and development, training highly skilled personnel, and knowledge dissemination to technical personnel, the scientific community, and the general public.
The Program Enhancement Officer will be working with the Cold Climate Innovation (CCI), and the Industrial Research Chair (IRC) in Northern Energy Innovation by overseeing the day to day operations of the team. This will include: identifying and coordinating funding opportunities, organizing meetings, providing administrative and financial support, preparing and tracking research projects as well as organizing meetings and workshops.
The ideal candidate will have a university degree in a relevant discipline (preferably Research and/or Administration based). Required skills include: experience coordinating research projects, excellent written and oral communications, office administration, proposal development, and project management skills.
