From June 12th - July 7th 2017 Hets’edän Kú’ is hosting a field school focused on Northern Tutchone Language and Culture. This pilot program emphasizes theoretical and academic inquiry into issues related to decolonization, racism and self-government, and it is based on land-based pedagogical approaches to education. The successful candidate will have a week preparation at the campus in advance of the program.

Duties:
• Bridging between theoretical inquiry (such as issues related to selfdetermination, indigenous governance and decolonization) and the teachings and
activities that are led by the Elders and situated on the land.

Requirements:
• Ability to articulate theoretical concepts in the context of land-based higher education
• Leading students in discussions based on themes
• Prior experience in similar land-based educational programs is an asset
• This program is situated at a remote boat-access camp site in the Traditional territory of Seklirk First Nation. Students and faculty will be accommodated in wall-tents.
