Our Library

Yukon College Library’s collection consists of more than 40,000 volumes, ranging from books, e-books, maps, DVDs, videos, CDs, and CD-ROMs. Subjects include environmental studies, First Nations studies, northern studies and women’s studies. The reference collection houses encyclopedias, atlases, dictionaries, and other reference works. Items from the reference collection cannot be borrowed.

The library also subscribes to periodicals in print, not to mention many more online through article databases such as Academic Search Complete, PsycARTICLES, ERIC, and more. These databases cover a variety of subject areas and can be accessed from any networked Yukon College computer or from home (current library patrons only).  Please refer to the Resources section of the library’s website to learn more.

The library has 8 research computers. Each computer provides users with access to a large selection of electronic resources, including the Internet. No emailing or chatting is allowed on these computers, but students have the option to use our computer lab for writing assignments, printing, and other activities not related to research.

Looking for a place to study alone, with colleagues, or simply get a rest? We have bright and ample spaces, not to mention a Preview Room where you can work in groups, preview videos, or work on your laptop more comfortably.

Come and meet our library staff! We will be happy to assist you finding and using information appropriately. Check our Student Help and Guides section to know more.
