CO-OP PROGRAMS

Cooperative (Co-op) education programs provide semesters of paid employment in your field of study.  Co-op education is available to international students and provides an excellent opportunity to gain not only academic knowledge in your field, but also applied knowledge gained from work-place skills.  Co-op can be a valuable way to develop contacts and gain experience, leading to stronger potential for securing work in Canada after graduation.

AFTER GRADUATION

International students graduating from Yukon College are permitted to work for up to two years after graduation.  Please refer to Citizenship and Immigration for guidelines.

WORKING IN CANADA

ON CAMPUS

International students are legally permitted to work part-time on campus while studying.  The Yukon College International office can provide you with information on eligibility.

OFF CAMPUS

Eligible international students can work up to 20 hours a week off-campus while registered as full-time students at Yukon College.  It's not possible to pay for all of your studies by working off campus part-time.  This is intended to be a way for students to acquire work-related skills.  There are many employers interested in hiring part-time workers in the Whitehorse region.
