Databases for Mobile Devices
Ebscohost (Academic Search Complete, PsychArticles, etc.)
Ebscohost databases (Academic Search Complete, ERIC, Medline, CINAHL and more) will adjust automatically to "mobile" mode if accessed from a mobile device.
If you prefer, you can also download an Ebscohost app specifically designed for smartphones and tablets*. To download the Ebscohost app:
1) Access any Ebscohost Database
From the College
a. Go to www.yukoncollege.yk.ca/library and click on "Find Articles: All Databases", located beneath the Books & Media search.
b. Open any Ebscohost database (e.g. Academic SearchComplete) and click the Ayamdigut link.
b. Log in with your library barcode number and password.
c. Open any Ebscohost database. E.g. Academic Search Complete.
2) Email yourself the link to the app store
a. At the bottom of the database home page, click on the link “iPhone and Android apps”
b. Type in your email address to send yourself the access key and a link to the app store.
3) Download the Ebscohost app
a. From your mobile device, open the email with the access key and follow the download instructions.
Proquest (Canadian Newsstand, CBCA Education, etc.)
Proquest databases don't adjust automatically to a mobile interface. Tablet and smartphone users can go to http://m.search.proquest.com to access the Proquest databases in mobile mode.
* Apps are available for iPhone, iPod, iPad, and Android devices.
