SW 411 - Abuse and Violence

This course examines abuse and violence primarily within familial relationships, but will also include discussion on such trauma in a wider context. Individual, familial, institutional and societal responses to abuse and violence will be explored. A victim-centred, trauma-informed social work perspective will be emphasized.

PREREQUISITE:
Admission to the Bachelor of Social Work Program.

Note: It is strongly recommended that students have completed one or more of the following courses: SW 200, SW 346, SW 390, SW 414 or SW 437 before registering for this course.
