Program Description

Introduction to First Nations Governance and Public Administration - $595 + GST

October 17-18, 2017 (8:30am - 4:30pm)

Instructors:  Kirk Cameron and Judy Gingell

This is an interactive, discussion-filled two day workshop.  It provides an overview of the theory, application and issues of public administration in relation to governance in the North, and examines concepts such as accountability, leadership, authority, citizen engagement and self-government.


Understanding Land Claims - $595 + GST

October 30-31, 2017 (8:30am - 4:30pm)

Instructors:  Victor Mitander and Shirley Adamson

The road to land claims and self-government was not a straight one. Starting with the indigenous peoples of Yukon and their relationship with Canada, the drafting of Together Today for Our Children Tomorrow, through to the signing of Yukon’s ground-breaking agreements, this workshop will take you through the history of land claims and self-government in Yukon.
