We can help you achieve your educational goals. A lack of financial support can be a barrier. Yukon College and our donors understand the value of an education. That's why we offer several financial awards to help support your educational and living costs. There are three types of awards:
Scholarship: A scholarship is given in recognition of academic excellence.
Bursary: A bursary is given based on demonstrated financial need.
Award: An award is a general category that may include a number of criteria such as community contributions, leadership, extra-curricular activities, academic achievement or financial need, among others.

How to apply
To apply for any award or for multiple awards, there is a single application and waiver. Students will complete ONE application and waiver, identify the awards to which they are applying, and submit any additional application materials separately.

Shirley Lindstrom Memorial Award: $500
Application Deadline: Friday, September 30, 2016
Shirley Lindstrom was a member of the Carcross Tagish First Nation. For many years she and her family lived in Mayo. She spent years doing volunteer work for the First Nation of NaCho Nyak Dunn. She was a person with beautiful spiritual attributes and was much loved and respected by many First Nations of Canada. Shirley travelled the world, bringing a message of love and unity for all people.
- Canadian citizen
- Have resided in the Yukon for a minimum of two years as of the date of the award
- Be registered as a full-time student in two year program related to physical or mental health
- Provide permission for the committee to review your academic performance
Provide a letter outlining:
o The reasons why the student chose this program
o The student’s plans for the future
o A short paragraph detailing any community work the student has done
